- The original is in Latin. The deposition relates to a dispute in 1612 between John Acheson, vicar of Pevensey, and John Pilcher, gentleman, of Herstmonceux on the matter of tithes. Only the introductory text is of genealogical interest. The reason for the deposition is probably that Martin had been a churchwarden for part of the period in question.
