In the name of God Amen I Stephen Christian of Pevensy in the County of Sussex Husbandman being sicke and weake in body but in good remembrance (thankes bee to God) doe make this my last will and Testament in manner and form following
That is to say ffirst I committ my soule into the hands of Almighty God my maker and Redeemer and my body to the earth from whence it came
Item I give unto my sonne Thomas my dwellinge house and barne and two acres of land thereto belonging, provided that if the childe live which my wife now goeth by hee shall pay that childe the somme of Ten pounds at one and twenty years of age.
Item I give unto my sonne Stephen my crofte of land lying in Pevemsey called Greggs Crofte and my desire is, that my children should come to their land at the age of one and twenty years, and my desire is, that if either of my two sonnes Thomas or Stephen should die before they come to the age of one and twenty, that the other shalbee his heyre
Item I give unto Mary my loving wife all my goods and houshold stuffe and make her my sole Executrix of all my goods whatsoever to pay my debts and towards the bringing up of my children dated this nineteenth day of June in the yeare of our Lord One Thousand six hundred and Thirty and nine In Witness whereof wee have sett our hands, The marke of Stephen Christian, Edward Peake, Thomas Cockshott, the mark of Abraham Christian.
