She had at least 3 children (William J, Frederick H, Walter) by a previous marriage, born between 1881 and 1889. She is therefor almost certainly the Caroline Hayward who married William Burchett, Dec 1880, Hailsham 2b 177. | HAYWARD, Caroline (I2063)

Stepchildren: 1881 census shows two stepchildren Liily A (age 3) and Samuel J (age 2) Hutchinson, but the ages are wrong: Lilian Agnes Hutchison (Dec 1885 Hastings 2b 39), Samuel John (Jun 1889 Hailsham 2b 98). in the 1901 their surname is king, and they are joined by three other children whose births are registered as Hutchinson. In the 1911 census Harriett claims to have had 5 children | KING, William Henry (I2034)

DEATH OF A DIGGER (and anti-fracking welding King)
Very sad to hear the news of the death earlier this month of a good friend and comrade of mine from Bolton, Richard Bircumshaw. Richard was a member of the Bolton Diggers' group for many years and is seen below (on the left) staffing their stall at the 2016 Wigan Diggers' Festival.
For those of you who didn't know him, Richard was a mild mannered, friendly guy always eager to help others, who was committed to the fight for equality and social justice everywhere. As an example Richard was responsible for making many of the devices used in the lock-ons at PNR and elsewhere which helped to delay the progress of the fracking company Cuadrilla for many months and must have cost them a small fortune. I got to know him around ten years ago during which time I met him on numerous marches, demos and other such events. Richard also regularly helped out transporting PA equipment to and from Swinton to all parts of the North West including to our Diggers' Festival in Wigan of which he was a strong supporter of.
Richard attended most of our Festivals to provide amongst other things, free home cooked food for the homeless and those on low incomes, something which he was regularly involved in the Bolton area. Richard's death is a sad loss and he will be sorely missed by his family, friend and comrades.

The original is in Latin. The deposition relates to a dispute in 1612 between John Acheson, vicar of Pevensey, and John Pilcher, gentleman, of Herstmonceux on the matter of tithes. Only the introductory text is of genealogical interest. The reason for the deposition is probably that Martin had been a churchwarden for part of the period in question. | Source (S51)
