- There has to be some doubt about Jane's surname. The marriage entry in the Myroe register says McCalfer, but there seems to be no other occurrence of the name - an on-line search produces not a single hit. Her daughter Martha's death certificate says McCaffer, which is more plausible, even if the source is not 100% reliable (the informant is her son).
